What will teachers learn?
ArgCoach helps teachers learn how to use criteria to build and evaluate arguments.
Make ideas understandable.
- Students express their ideas clearly so that others can understand and respond to them.

- Students explain how their ideas, reasons, and evidence connect logically and meaningfully to one another.

What is involved in participating?
The study is conducted fully online and requires approximately 8 hours over 4 weeks.

Professional Development
(6 hours)Teachers participate in three 2-hour online professional development meetings. They learn strategies for improving the quality of classroom discussions, reflect on their experiences, and provide feedback to help us improve the ArgCoach program. -
Practice with Student Avatars
(2 hours)Before, during, and after the professional development, teachers practice facilitating realistic classroom discussions with student avatars. -
Participating Teachers Recieve- $500 stipend
- Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
- Free access to curriculum materials
